For Mothership, we are just getting started. The Warden's guide has a ton of great guidelines even for an old-timer like me. The only addition I have is using the 5-Room-Dungeon concept for this first extraction mission, I pair it with Motherships thoughts on prepping maps. In our first session, I just want us both to get use to the Mothership rules, make some skill checks, touch the other mechanics and establish the setting. For us it's High Alien Weirdness and desperate folks doing dangerous things. Session 2 and on, it's all RAW meets prep. We're leaning on the Murderbot diaries (He is reading) and Ancient Alien high-weirdness.
I'm using The One Ring for Moria and their expansion 'Through the doors of Durin.' I'll run this open-table style across conventions and possibly online. Collecting each sessions tales and exploits for future sessions to review -as if they were all part of Balin's expedition.
Sick, thanks for answering, I'd love to hear updates on Duet-style NSR play as it goes on!
Yeah, I've got Through the Doors of Durin, too, I'm just not sure how I should run it yet. TOR isn't necessarily my favorite system, I might even look at it for something like Cairn or even Freebooters on the Frontier. We'll see!!
I got questions, baby!
1. How does it feel running an NSR game like Mothership for just one? What's the vibe? Any advice, or any reading you recommend about this?
2. What're you doing for Moria? Group? Using The One Ring system, the latest book? I just got mine!
I LOVE questions! Hit me!!
