Good Monday, Gamer!
Dolmenwood is in full swing, and I’m playing a Breggle magician named Gerg Elbowgin. He’s on the run from justice to a life of spellcraft and skulduggery. My backup character? Emelda Malksmilk—a thief with a sordid past of cheese-related crimes. We're on a quest to retrieve a map, but this isn’t just any map. No, this one is a dream map... from a cauldron... that you walk into. Yep, Dolmenwood is just as wonderfully strange as it sounds.
Character creation was classic 3D6 down the line with some limited point swapping—hits the sweet spot for me. I love the challenge of making tough choices with those median scores. To turn Gerg into a magician meant some serious point swapping, whereas Emelda rolled naturally into the thief role. There’s something about making the most out of the scores you roll that’s such a dopamine hit!
Session one saw us creating characters and beginning our exploration of the cauldron [NO SPOILERS], and let’s just say it’s every bit as Fae-strange and fabulous as I’d hoped. There’s this constant feeling like the rug could be pulled out from under us at any moment. My favorite moment of the night? We were trying to verify our bearings and asked, “Is it still spring outside?”
Dave the DM replies with a perfectly unsettling, “The leaves are still green.”
👀 Not lost on us, DAVE.
Mothership is on deck! In our 1v1 game, Max is piloting an Android (name TBD) working for Rook, Knight & Bishop, a recovery service company that operates out of the KBA in the Kuiper Belt region. They handle all sorts of retrieval jobs, including extractions in the "Non-Human Anomaly." Their latest mission: SAAM Corp has lost contact with a tech team, but two LifeSign™ signals are still active.
Our first session was all about world-building through character generation, and it was a solid. I had questions for Max about the role of Androids out here on the space frontier with all these debters. The Kuiper Belt Anomaly is this eerie, otherworldly place, and the anticipation is real. Look for the podcast Actual Play coming later this week!
Big Prep for Moria is underway. Pre-gens are probably the most work—I'm aiming for around ten characters to choose from: six dwarves, a couple of humans, hobbits, and maybe an elf. I’m in Procreate working up a nice hand-drawn map of the first hall, which will serve as a home base of sorts. It’s all coming together for the big event later this month at Meeple-a-thon, and I can't wait to dive into Middle-earth's depths.
Lastly, TinyCon is at 20% funding and chugging along. Slowly but surely, we’re getting there! Share & Support Please! 🙏🏾

I got questions, baby!
1. How does it feel running an NSR game like Mothership for just one? What's the vibe? Any advice, or any reading you recommend about this?
2. What're you doing for Moria? Group? Using The One Ring system, the latest book? I just got mine!
