Sixish sessions in, and it's time to wrap things up. Because, unlike when we were kids with infinite time, we’ve got other IRL commitments and obligations pulling at us. In a 6-8 session game, I, GM, am staring down a pile of open threads, and the reality is—I'm not gonna close ‘em all in one session.
So, what do you do?
For me, it’s about identifying the MAIN thread—the most active one, the one that touches every character. Something new I've started is asking the players a session ahead of time (or early in the finale) what they’d like to see in this last session. That gives me just enough runway to steer things in a satisfying direction while keeping the game player-driven.
Sunday BSH – The Cycles of Errazu Finale
In the Northlander Territories, Wulf, Betany, Rikvengar, and Anton threw themselves into the final battle—facing down the Blue Smoke Cultists, scouts from the Order of Truth, and still fit time in to arm wrestle a nearly-naked, fully tattooed mystic from the sunken kingdom of Carafax. Good times!
I will miss these amazing characters, their players, my friends, and our weekly sessions.
May Doom forget their names.
