Good Monday Gamer ☕️
Most of the week was spent prepping for games over the next few months. I'll run a few sessions of Tenra Bansho Zero set in Anthem. I’ll have it on the schedule for Shared Hearth in Nov and very likely on offer for PAX Unplugged in Dec. I’m bringing back the One-sheet! It used to mean a one-page handout for setting the tone, feelz, and other stuff to know for the game sessions about to be played. I used one for a Mage game using Sorcerer RPG.
Boss of New York Forever!
2-3 times out of the year, usually as a big project transitions to being done or out of my direct hands, I clear and rearrange my office space, getting ready for something new. I need the open flow of space in my office to "get work done" more than I need the stuff. This activity cascades to the rest of the family; it's recycling time. We run through toys, books, clothes, tools, whatever, and donate or trash depending on the condition of the stuff we're not using. Yep, that includes games. This latest recycling round resulted in some nostalgic play time of an old family favorite. King of Tokyo and King of New York. We've got a couple of champion house belts, including the unification belt King of New Tokyo. You gotta win King of Tokyo and King of New York to unify the belts! This weekend was the Boss of New Tokyo Forever Belt... and I'll be damned if those cheating kids didn't cheat me out of the title...forever! I hope wherever King of Tokyo and King of New York games go; it delivers as much joy as we got.
Spooky Travellers
We played Classic Traveller Sunday night on Twitch.tv/Actualplay. Judd from Daydreaming About Dragons podcast as GM. We're a crew tasked to bring back this haunted derelict capital ship...and we just got called out by some entity that refers to itself as The Minotaur then it sent us directions to The Labyrinth. 🤷🏾♂️
What’s happening at your table?
Monday Musings #17
In my main game (a 4+ year long 1e campaign), the PCs are returning to the centerpiece megadungeon after a number of adventures exploring the kingdom and world around them.
I'm starting short post-apocalyptic adventure using Cairn as the base system with a couple of players. Yesterday, we worked through The Same Page Tool to frame our table for this one.
I'm also starting a campaign of Public Access with some of my AD&D players and one from my recently completed Bump in the Dark game.
