I'm sure you know the current struggle. Many event organizers are worried about the cost and usability of event management software. Eventbrite is okay, and the big players like GenCon or PAX can afford to roll their own solutions. My local monthly game meetup can't always do that and often relies on makeshift arrangements, like delegating it to my friend's uncle's sister's cousin!
I believe we gamers can have great event management software for small, irregular, bespoke events. It can be simple to use, not sell your data, not be a minefield of pop-up ads, and your Uncle’s Wife’s Brother’s cousin doesn’t have to make it. We can crowdfund its yearly costs. It's kind of how Font Awesome does it. Everyone can use the platform, and backers get extra stuff.

That’s how we’ll do TinyCon.Events. My focus is on small, indie, and bespoke events, irregular events, or ones that change venues monthly, like RPGKC, my local game days organization, or online-only events like Games on Demand Online. Digital Gnomes Software, my company, is already building out the platform and getting input from different event organizers. We’ll have a WIP demo site up for the Kickstarter for folks to play with.
The Kickstarter will be simple. There will be two levels of user and organizer tiers, two sponsorship tiers, and One Hail Mary tier. Add-ons will include stickers, tee shirts, and online game sessions—it’s what I do when I’m not code-slinging.
Yearly crowdfunding to pay the bills. No ads. No data farming. Check it out, spread the word, and ask me questions.
So excited about this!!! I’m in LA and play with a bunch of indie groups and i feel like this is exactly the kind of thing we would love! Can’t wait, keep crushing 🤘
